The Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the DENR has issued a statement that appeared in the Inquirer today in response to my article entitled This Land is Mined (PDI, 8/08/2007). The MGB basically confirmed reports that an illegal nickel exploration was being undertaken in Dumanguena, Narra by a company called Hai Cheng Nickel Mining Corporation.
